Would you like to get started with electronics? Join us for an hour of electronics with our simple workshop aimed at beginners who are new to electronics and have a basic knowledge of computers.

During our workshop, you will:

  • Be introduced to the fascinating world of physical computing with Raspberry Pi
  • Create your own traffic lights system using LEDs and a buzzer
  • Create a reaction game using a button
  • Learn to program hardware using Python

No previous knowledge of Python coding is required for this workshop, but you will need to be able to use a keyboard. You will be typing text that will create a program that asks a user for input and then does something with the input they provide.

This workshop is most suitable for children aged eight and above, but younger children might enjoy taking part with help from an adult; teenagers and adults who want to learn about the topic are also welcome. Adults accompanying children are welcome to join and don’t need to sign up. We ask that parents and carers of children under 16 kindly remain in the store for the duration of the workshop. Seating will be available.
