Microcontrollers are everywhere: in your washing machines, cameras, security alarms, smart devices, traffic lights, and more. Raspberry Pi Pico is Raspberry Pi’s microcontroller development board, making computing accessible and affordable.

This half-day training session is a combination of lectures and hands-on exercises. You will learn the following:

  • Basics of a microcontroller
  • Capabilities and features of Raspberry Pi Pico
  • Ways to use a microcontroller in your home
  • Basic electronics and physical computing concepts
  • How to control Raspberry Pi Pico using MicroPython
  • How to write simple MicroPython programs and install them on a Raspberry Pi Pico

Pre-requisite: This is a beginners’ training session. There are two requirements to attend:

  1. Wi-Fi-enabled laptop with a USB port running the latest version of your operating system
  2. Desire to learn

Materials provided that you can take home to continue the fun:

  • Raspberry Pi Pico
  • Breadboard
  • USB cable
  • LEDs, jumper wires, and resistors
