This beginner-friendly event introduces Raspberry Pi fundamentals, guiding participants through initial setup and basic programming concepts. Building on this foundation, the session demonstrates Raspberry Pi’s role as a central platform in Software Defined Radio (SDR) projects for satellite communication.

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of satellite communication principles, including orbital mechanics, signal transmission, and reception techniques. The demonstration highlights practical ground station setup, leveraging Raspberry Pi as a versatile, cost-effective computing hub for SDR applications.

Attendees will witness live reception of various radio signals—ranging from FM/AM broadcasts and amateur radio transmissions to real satellite data. The full workflow will be showcased, including antenna configuration, satellite tracking, and signal decoding using open-source SDR software.

This initiative supports hands-on learning for students, hobbyists, and educators interested in space technology, telecommunications, and embedded systems. No prior experience with Raspberry Pi or SDR is required.
