Are you a Raspberry Pi enthusiast, educator, tinkerer, or just curious about small computers that can do big things? Join us at Wikimania 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya for a special Raspberry Jam — an informal, hands-on gathering for anyone interested in Raspberry Pi!

Wikimania 2025 is the annual gathering of the Wikimedia movement, taking place from August 6 through August 9, celebrating 20 years of Wikimania — and we’re adding to the celebration with open tech and Pi-thusiasm!

Raspberry Jams are community-led events that happen all around the world. They bring together hobbyists, developers, teachers, students, families, and open-source enthusiasts to learn, share, and play with Raspberry Pi.

At this Raspberry Jam, you’ll get a chance to:

  • Meet fellow Pi-thusiasts from the Wikimedia and open tech communities.
  • Watch demos and participate in mini-workshops on Raspberry Pi projects — from offline Wikipedia (Internet-in-a-Box) to environmental sensors.
  • Learn how Raspberry Pi is being used for education, digital access, and open knowledge sharing in resource-constrained settings.
  • Get inspired to host a Jam in your own community!

This event is inspired by the global Raspberry Jam movement, which started in the UK and has now spread worldwide — from local libraries to major tech conferences. We’re excited to bring this spirit to Wikimania 2025 in Nairobi!

No prior experience needed — just curiosity and community spirit.
