Many members of the Quantum Technology Club are licensed amateur radio operators. During this meeting we will be using the club’s new transceiver to make contacts with other radio amateurs locally and further afield, all wirelessly and without the use of the Internet.

If you are not licensed and want to know what amateur radio is all about, this is a great opportunity to have a look, and even have a go yourself. This is also an ideal session for those studying towards their amateur radio foundation licence.

We will have the latest Raspberry Pi 5 to hand for logging the contacts made and for making contacts with other radio amateurs digitally using text messages encoded and decoded by the Raspberry Pi.
