Hong Kong’s biggest annual open source conference returns in 2026!

This June, HKOSCon brings developers and open source enthusiasts from across Asia together at the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology, VTC Tsing Yi Complex.

Continuing from his Hong Kong Track session at COSCUP 2025, Masafumi Ohta of the Japanese Raspberry Pi Users Group presents “Raspberry Pi in Alcohol Brewing: Modernizing Craft Processes with IoT”. Drawing on two wineries running Raspberry Pi-based IoT and one sake brewery actively introducing IoT, the session asks where IT genuinely helps brewery operations — and where human intuition, experience, and craftsmanship remain irreplaceable. Amid talk of an imminent AI singularity, this is a grounded view from the brewery floor — one that matters more as fewer successors step into the role of tōji, the master brewer.

If you’re curious about how technology fits into traditional industries, don’t miss it.
